Every year, the best drivers from each international Porsche one-make series are nominated by the respective Porsche Carrera Cups and invited by Porsche Motorsport to a common assessment event.
Over the course of two days, the one-make series drivers try to set the fastest possible lap time as well as demonstrating their technical understanding and their analytical skills while setting up the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. The winner is sponsored with 200,000 Euro as a Porsche Junior in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
And in 2016, the winner was Australian Matt Campbell, who scaled the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid from GT3 Cup Challenge in 2014, Carrera Cup in 2015 and 2016 – his title winning season – and is now part of the 2017 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
In 2017, Porsche will again send its best young talent under 26 from Carrera Cup Australia to the Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme Shootout for their shot at becoming a Porsche Junior in 2018.
