Matt Campbell has secured his third straight TAG Heuer Pole Position in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia’s return to Hidden Valley.
Campbell eclipsed the previous Qualifying Lap Record time of 1m09.4004s, set by Alex Davison in 2007, with a 1:07.5609 lap of the Darwin circuit.
Campbell will start alongside Ash Walsh and ahead of second row starters Steven Richards and Dylan O’Keeffe, who posted his best qualifying performance of fourth.
Shane Smollen looked to be out of the qualifying session, missing a large portion of the session due to mechanical dramas. Smollen managed to start the session late and made up for lost time, posting the best lap of the TAG Heuer Carrera Challenge competitors.
The opening race of the Hidden Valley weekend will be held at 3:10pm on Saturday, to be broadcast on Fox Sports 5.
