Porsche Carrera Cup Australia combatants Marc Cini and Stephen Grove have embarked on their respective race weekends at the La Sarthe Circuit at Le Mans, France.
The duo are competing in the Carrera Cup support race to the 24 hour endurance event, which sees Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain and Porsche Carrera Cup France combine for a 62-car curtain raiser to the day-long race.
Cini has joined French outfit Racing Technology for the event while Grove is part of FACH Auto Tech.
“There are going to be 62 drivers turning up to race, so that’s going to be a massive grid,” said Grove.
“To put it into context, the maximum grids that we run in the Carrera Cup [Australia] are somewhere between 22 to 25 cars. Everybody is going there from around the world to try to win and those travelling to Le Mans are among the best Porsche drivers in the world, so it’s going to be a great challenge.”
Qualifying for the event will be held Thursday June 12 while the 45 minute race is on Saturday June 14.
