TAG Heuer Pro-Am racer Adrian Flack is the first driver in the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia series to be nominated for the ‘Morris Finance Sportsperson of the Year Award’.
The new honour will be given to the Carrera Cup driver who best encompasses the values of Porsche and the one-make championship, with the overall winner to receive a Business Class trip to Germany to attend the 2019 Porsche Motorsport Day of Champions and Night of Champions at Weissach, Germany.
Six different drivers will be nominated for the Morris Finance Sportsperson of the Year Award throughout the season, with the ultimate winner to be announced at the 2019 Carrera Cup Awards Night.
Flack endured a difficult start to the 2019 season after a heavy turn eight incident during qualifying at the Adelaide 500 season opener. The Brisbane-based driver maintained a positive attitude and battled to repair his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for the second round of the season at Albert Park, at which he placed seventh in the TAG Heuer Pro-Am class.
The next nomination for the Morris Finance Sportsperson of the Year Award will be announced after the series’ visit to Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway for round four.
