Glen Wood has announced he will compete in all Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia rounds in 2026, confirming Famous Insurance Brokers will step up as naming-rights partner of the #911 entry.
The partnership uplift with Famous Insurance represents a big step forward for the specialist vehicle insurer, seeing its strategic partnership with Wood growing from strength-to-strength after joining Wood as a minor partner in 2025.
Woodโs third successive season in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia will see Earl Bamber Motorsport once again prepare his car.
The entryโs striking new livery made a spectacular public debut at Porsche Centre Melbourne on Monday 2 March, pulling the wraps off a mostly-white composition featuring prominent Famous Insurance branding.
Continuity is a key pillar of Woodโs 2026 assault, retaining the same team and engineer combination that underpinned his late-2025 performance surge.
โIโm incredibly excited to strengthen my partnership with Famous Insurance as well as retain Earl Bamber Motorsport [EBM] for 2026.โ Wood said.
โEBM and myself made significant gains together last year, weโve built a clear direction and feel we have pace and momentum to carry into this season.
โItโs really rewarding to put the program together for this year. I wouldnโt be here racing in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia without the help of my corporate partners, so to lock in the whole season is a big tick.
โAs we say farewell to Embrey, that deal was always going to be for one-season. In Embreyโs place, the team at Famous Insurance Brokers really got behind me and were keen to expand their involvement, which is hugely exciting.
โThey live and breathe automotive and genuinely love Carrera Cup, so to have them as part of the program makes me very proud.โ
During the off-season, Wood gained valuable track time by supporting David Cramptonโs KTM GT2 entry at the Bathurst 12 Hour.
While the campaign ended abruptly, Wood believes the experience will prove valuable โ particularly with ABS regulations introduced into Carrera Cup machinery for 2026.
โAll seat time is beneficial,โ Wood said.
โWith the introduction of ABS in Carrera Cup Australia this year, the recent experience in a GT car definitely helps with preparation.โ
Wood will open his 2026 campaign at Albert Park Circuit as part of the Australian Grand Prix support program, facing a 30-car field at the season opener.
โThe goal is to keep fighting for top-five finishes and podiums,โ he added.
โWith 30 cars on the grid for the opening round, it wonโt be easy โ but thatโs the strength of Carrera Cup in Australia. The depth of competition is what makes it so rewarding.โ
Managing Director of BJS Insurance Group, Belinda Scott, reaffirmed the strategic partnership, saying: โWorking with Glen has been wonderful. His group of partners shares the same philosophy and ethos as we do, and he runs a strong commercial product. The expansion of our relationship is a natural fit, and weโre excited about the year ahead.โ
