Harri Jones has confirmed a major move for the 2026 Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia Championship, rejoining McElrea Racing for a full-season campaign behind the wheel of the #12 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
The announcement marks a return to familiar territory for Jones, who previously raced with McElrea Racing from 2019 to 2022. During that period, the partnership delivered significant success, including Championship wins in Porsche Sprint Challenge Championship (2019) in and Jones’ first Carrera Cup crown in 2022.
“I’m extremely excited to be returning to McElrea Racing,” Jones said. “This is a team that played a huge role in my career progression and success, and it feels like the right time to reunite. We’ve achieved a lot together in the past, and I’m confident we can be very competitive again in 2026.
The 2026 season will see Jones once again carry the #12, a number synonymous with his previous championship success. The move aligns with a long-term vision focused on performance, continuity, and maximising results in one of Australia’s most competitive one-make categories.
McElrea Racing Team Principal Andy McElrea welcomed Jones back to the team, highlighting the strength of the existing relationship and shared ambition moving forward.
“Harri is someone we know extremely well,” McElrea said. “We’ve won championships together, and his professionalism, work ethic, and outright speed speak for themselves. We’re very pleased to have him back with us for 2026 and are looking forward to building on our long term proven partnership.”
Jones enters the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship with strong momentum as a two-time Champion and a clear focus on challenging at the front of the field. Preparations are already underway as he and McElrea Racing begin work towards the opening round of the season at the Australian Grand Prix in March.
Further announcements regarding testing, partners, and team developments will be made in the lead-up to the 2026 campaign.
