Jaxon Evans will be back in the 992 generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car this weekend when he takes onย Round 4 of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Championship at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Evans is no stranger to 911 GT3 Cup Cars,ย having finished runner-up in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Championship in 2021 and raced in the category for two years as a Porsche junior, tasting success on multiple occasions.
The Championship supports the Austrian Grand Prix Formula 1 event, and cars will be on track forย Free Practice on Friday, Qualifying on Saturday, and an 18-lap Race on Sunday. Evans will beย racing for team CLRT in the single-driver sprint race.
The Red Bull Ring has been a happy hunting ground for Evans in the past, having won at theย track on two different occasions.ย โI love racing at the Red Bull Ring. Iโve raced there many times and have enjoyed muchย success,โ said Evans.
โMy first Supercup race win came at the Red Bull Ring in 2020, and then I backed it up withย another win last year in 2021.โ
Evans is hoping for a top-five finish this weekend but is well aware of the competitive natureย of the Supercup Championship and isnโt underestimating the task ahead.
โItโs going to be a tough weekend. Supercup is a very competitive championship, and havingย only a single 45-minute practice session to get back in the groove of driving the 992 911 GT3 Cupย Car is a tough ask.
โIโm going up against guys that have been in the car nearly every weekend since theย beginning of the race season. But Iโm confident in the track knowledge I have and pastย success, so we should be able to push for a top 10 finish.
โUltimately, Iโd feel satisfied with a top five result, and I think thatโs achievable,โ said Evans.ย
