Warren Luff has followed his strong practice pace with securing the TAG Heuer Pole Position Award, with Tony Bates the best Elite Class qualifier.

Luff will start alongside Michael Patrizi in the opening race from Steven Richards, Shae Davies, Sam Power, Craig Baird and Nick Foster in seventh.

Further back, top Elite Class qualifier Bates posted a time nearly one-second shy of the overall pace-setter in 11th place, starting ahead of Stephen Grove and Ash Samadi.

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia will hold its opening race on Saturday afternoon, with two races to follow on Sunday.
