CAMERON HILL has charged to his maiden TAG Heuer Pole Award in a remarkable qualifying session in Darwin, while Adrian Flack grabbed his first TAG Heuer Pro-Am pole award of the season.
Hill jumped to the top of the charts on his 14th and final lap of an enthralling 20-minute qualifying session, the closest and most competitive of the year to date.
He is the fourth different pole sitter from four rounds this year, with Flack also the fourth different to secure pole in Pro-Am this season.
Hill’s 1m07.4406s best came as the flag dropped to bump Michael Almond from pole position by 0.2 seconds.
The next five cars – Almond, David Wall, Dale Wood, Warren Luff and Nick McBride – were all covered by less than 0.1 seconds.
The result came after a compelling session that ebbed and flowed throughout with several drivers taking their turn at the top of the charts.
Cooper Murray, Thomas Maxwell, Jordan Love and TAG Heuer Pro-Am pacesetter Adrian Flack completed the top-10.
Four different drivers held the fastest time in Pro-Am throughout qualifying with Flack, like Hill, leaving his run to late.
He ultimately grabbed the top spot ahead of Anthony Gilbertson and Liam Talbot, with Roger Lago fourth.
Exactly one second covered the top 16 cars in qualifying today.
The opening race of round four will commence at 2:45pm on Saturday afternoon at Hidden Valley, broadcast live on FOX Sports 506 and Kayo Sports.
