Perennial contender Nick McBride is the second nomination for the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia’s 2019 Morris Finance Sportsperson of the year award.
Although the mid-point of the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia season shows Nick McBride occupying a strong third position overall in the 2019 Championship, it’s his personable demeanor that has been recognised by the German manufacturer off the circuit.
The Victorian’s unassuming professionalism, conduct and determination not only encompass the values of the Porsche brand, but that of Australia’s premier one-make championship.
As a result, his nomination for the prestigious Morris Finance Sportsperson of the year award, follows that of TAG Heuer Pro-Am contender Adrian Flack which was announced earlier this year.
McBride, who is also a practicing lawyer in Melbourne, made his debut in 2014 and has since amassed 44 Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia round starts: scoring 11 race victories, scoring four pole positions and four round victories. During that time, the Victorian driver has become one of the most valued and positive ambassadors for the Porsche brand and national one-make championship.
The overall winner of the Morris Finance Sportsperson of the year award, will receive a Business Class trip to Germany to attend the 2019 Porsche Motorsport Day of Champions and Night of Champions at Weissach, Germany.
The next nomination will be announced after the series’ travels to The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia, for Round six of the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia.
