Australia’s number one pet food producer, VIP Petfoods, has announced a naming rights sponsorship with young, upcoming racing driver Duvashen Padayachee for the 2014 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championship.
For Padayachee, who finished consistently in the top 8 at the last round at Clipsal 500, the sponsorship will see his number 45 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in a striking new VIP Petfoods livery for the remainder of the championship, with the second round held as supporting event to the 2014 Formula One Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.
The iconic yellow and black ‘paw-print’ theme, as seen on fellow VIP Petfoods race cars, will be the first time the VIP Petfoods logo appears on a Porsche Carrera Cup car since the series revival in 2010.
Commenting on the new sponsorship Duvashen said “I am very excited to have VIP Petfoods onboard as a major sponsor, and to have the support from the Quinn family who are committed to supporting my future racing goals. To be associated with a brand that supports racing drivers such as Shane Van Gisbergen (V8 Supercars) is a real honour and I look forward to achieving some great results with them in 2014!”
“I feel that I can run at the front of such a competitive series, such as Carrera Cup, and against some of the best drivers in Australia. Team BRM have a good handle on the new car, but now it is up to me to make the most of this opportunity and have a solid crack at the championship.”
