PORSCHE EQUITY-ONE Carrera Cup Australia newcomer Richard MacDonald will join Wall Racing for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The Victorian-based Pro-Am racer will link with the Sydney team commencing at Round 2 of the championship in Darwin this June, adding a second car to Wall’s full-time return to Carrera Cup.
The Porsche newcomer will have the advantage of being teammates to reigning Michelin Sprint Challenge champion, Jake Santalucia – who is spearheading Wall Racing’s full-time Carrera Cup return this year.
“It’s great to have Richard join us at Wall Racing and that he has chosen us to help him in his motorsport journey for the rest of 2026,” Team owner and former Carrera Cup champion David Wall explained.
“Richard has some big plans with his racing in the future, and we look forward to being part of it with him along the way – Welcome aboard!”
MacDonald’s Carrera Cup debut delivered finishes of 8th and 11th in the first two races of the season in Melbourne, before a non-finish in race three.
He heads to Darwin looking to build on the experience gained at the opening round and with the advantage of joining the experienced Wall outfit.
“It’s fantastic to be joining Wall Racing for the remainder of the 2026 season,” he said.
“David’s experience behind the wheel and his knowledge of the category really stood out, and it made the decision an easy one.
“The whole team has been incredibly welcoming and professional from the outset, which gives us a lot of confidence heading into the next rounds.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with them, building momentum, and seeing what we can achieve together starting in Darwin.”
Key elements of MacDonald’s existing crew will continue to support his efforts at Wall Racing this year.
“It’s also great to have my friend and engineer, Ollie Turner, alongside me for the season. He’s worked at the highest levels of Porsche categories and has achieved winning success with previous champions, so his experience will be invaluable.
“He’s got his toughest challenge ahead with me, but his hard work and support will be a key part of what we’re aiming to achieve together at Wall Racing.”
The next round of Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia will be held at the Betr Darwin Triple Crown in June.
