Nick Foster has secured the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia title after finishing third in race two at Gold Coast.
Foster, now untouchable in the standings, was lost for words after achieving the incredible feat.
“I’m absolutely speechless. I have to thank everybody – Mick, Maria, Rod, Mike, my family,” said an emotional Foster.
“I’m stoked. That last race wasn’t easy. I could feel every vibration, every marble and kerb that I hit, I saw every wall; it was the worst race I’ve ever had!
“This means so much to me, I can’t describe it. It is incredible. This is by far the highlight of my career; it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced.
After scoring no points from the open four races of the season, Foster turned a 298 point deficit into a 70 point lead drivers standing with one race to go.
“Who would have thought that we’d come back from nearly 300 points behind to secure the championship with a race to go. It’s pretty incredible. As I said at the start of the year, this team is incredible, the car is incredible and has continued to be all year. I let them down in the first couple of races of the year and it’s nice to reward them for all the effort that they put in and get the job done.”
Race two was won by Matt Campbell from David Russell, Foster and Craig Baird.
