David Wall has secured Wall Racing’s sixth-straight TAG Heuer Pole Position at the opening Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia event of the 2019 season in Adelaide, while Anthony Gilbertson started his season in the same fashion as 2018.
The 2017 Carrera Cup champion Wall posted his best lap later in the session just before the red flag was waved following a heavy turn eight incident involving Adrian Flack, who emerged from his Porsche unscathed.
The pole position effort continued Wall Racing’s impressive qualifying run that has seen the team top the session at every event since Darwin in 2018.
Anthony Gilbertson was the best of the TAG Heuer Pro-Am drivers. The Adelaide-raised racer claimed TAG Heuer Pole Position at his Carrera Cup debut last season on the Adelaide streets and has replicated the feat to kick off his 2019 campaign.
