Dale Wood has ended Wall Racing’s stronghold of Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia qualifying sessions after claiming the TAG Heuer Pole Position Award at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
Between drivers David Wall and James Moffat, the Sydney based Wall Racing team had claimed six straight pole positions since the 2018 round at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Wood beat his Sonic teammate Michael Almond to the top qualifying position from former regular Dylan O’Keeffe in third, who is racing in a one-off drive in line with his Super2 Series commitments.
Sam Shahin was the best of the TAG Heuer Pro-Am drivers, taking his first pole position since the Sandown round in 2017. Shahin will start ahead of fellow TAG Heuer Pro-Am runners Anthony Gilbertson, Roger Lago and Liam Talbot.
